With iMovie for a mac, how do take clips from dvds and make them in to a highlight tape?

iMovie can't take clips from DVDs. Use Handbrake to extract the video of a DVD into an MPG4 file or a .mov container file and then use iMovie to import that file. You can then edit the file by cutting at the playhead as many times as you like to make several smaller clips.
