I metered my shot for the shadows and now I am developing for my highlights. I just want to know if the developing time should increase or decrease from the suggested time by developer? Thank you, X.How do I develop b/w film for highlight?
It depends upon the lighting ratio.
If the ratio is 1:4, then normal development is what you need to do
If the ratio is 1:1, the development can be from 50% to 75% longer, depending upon the developer
If the ratio is 1:16 the development can be as short as five minutes with a one minute water bath (with no agitation) each minute
I am sure your notes from class will have this data in them
